Agreed with Pingu. I kept my wiring and switches as simple as I could. I bottled out and kept the Z3 light switch as it looks quite vintage. The fog light switch and it's telling tale was a bit of a head scratcher too.
Damn those light fittings ! I originally had land rover lights on my Kobra but they were cheap for a reason.
I failed an MOT because front indicator not working. Cheap connection! Nice tester gave me ten mins to find this out and fix it. Still annoyed at a Fail/Pass tho.
Then replaced those...
Good luck with the build. Tribute, or their UK agents Classic Coachworks sell the 2fifty these days but in a limited way to avoid dealing with F.... Classic have also built quite a few of them for customers so have good knowledge of what seats fit etc. They are not keen on the quality of the BB...
Like these. Picture of how they look on car included. I think they do rectangular ones also.

Oh and I never fitted fogs so can't comment accurately. My fogs are not those chrome dangley things either. I went for reflectors with inbuilt LEDs. Keep things neat, simple and minimum MOT std.
I can't recall exactly what all reasons were as to my wiring for the Kobra but as I wired it (a 2001 2.2) I found that it wasn't always straightforward.
Attached is a set of diags created by me which may or may not help. Especially note that the reversing lights work on one side but an...
The only fly in that ointment is when plod are following you and their dBASE says it's a blue Z3 and they are following a green re body. Gives them cause to wonder whether to stop you. Mine is a red Kobra and the V5 reflects that. I'm all for keeping a low ish profile.
Not saying you are...
I can answer that from my Kobra experience at least. I have been taking mine for MOTs for 4 years plus and only last year did I have a discussion about what the car was. I have a Kobra dash and replacement steering wheel so it becomes very relevant.
My V5 states that it is a BMW Tribute Kobra...
Just my opinion but I would make changes in the grp not door skin. Unless there is some reason you Have to touch the metal work I'd avoid it.
I am a combo of lazy, unskilled, risk averse, cheapskate.
