I tried a new app today: Race Droid Pro. Any other tried this?
It gives several data, but the main test for me today was to check the 0-100Km/hour. As far as I know a regular M44B19 with manual gearbox should do it in 9,5 sec. My Z did it in between 8,4 and 8,8 sec.
The only improvement I have done to the car is pipercross airfilter, raised the rev limit to 7000 and optimised the DME to 95 octane petrol.

The reason I want to know the 0-100 is because next week I am going to install a light weight flywheel from JBRacing, and I want to know if it really does any inprovement.

Any others tried the same?

post results for the new flywheel, its hard to find any real data on these flywheels as most will do other mods at the same time without actually testing with just the flywheel.

that would be great, if i have a before and after result we could build a graph to see what difference a ??? (this is a given weight) would make.
the duel mass wheel is very heavy, though this can sometimes be an advantage, but for pure driving then it needs to be lighter.

The dual mass wheel weight about 12kg, the JBRacing flywheel weight about 4.5kg. I hope for a noticable change.

you should, i read somewhere that every lb of mass lost at the fly wheel was equivalent to loosing 14lb of car weight, so to go from 12kg down to 4.5 that is about 16 and a half pond reduction, so if the 1 to 14 applies then its equivalent to loosing 224 lb or 101kg  but then as you go faster the effect gets smaller, but even so a 100kg loss is not to be sniffed at, 101kg is more than a fatish passenger

yes he did, but he also made a shed load of other changes at the same time, this is why it would be great to just change the fly wheel and re-test as i dont think you can find any real info on just this mod alone, i have looked and looked, there are a few vague references to this on 318 forums but nothing kinda definite. im not really one for smoking the wheels ( i was when younger, and i dont frown on others doing exactly what i did when young), but i am interested in the results simply because im that kind of person.

i will take that back if fat ar*es and big t*ts is how you roll:)
i had to include this as i have come across this before on another forum - members question, i have a largish girlfriend and want to loose some weight from the car, what can i do cheaply.
My answer was the obvious, - dump the bird, but his reply made me really laugh out loud, sorry but fat ar*ses and big t*ts is how i roll.
cant argue with that reply.

Old dual mass flywheel about 12kg

New light weight flywheel about 4,5kg

New flywheel and clutch mounted

I have not had the time to do any tests yet, because of snow and the lack of grip. Everything is mounted, and I have tried the car - so I know that it works better than with the dual mass flywheel. :)

so a loss of 7.5 kg, thats good.
should be equivalent to loosing about 100 kg of mass in the lower gears.

I weighed the car today and it weighs 1340kg with me inside the tank and full with petrol. I think that about correct.

Would it not be better for you to be in the drivers seat instead of the tank =))
Quite a bit of saving that is for a single component.
