Hi guys, I first got my Z3 and I was happy with the auto, wanted a manual but I'm in Victoria Australia and I had only my automatic provisional licence, Ive been playing around in all my friends manual cars and I finally decided to start on my manual journey however, I'm not going to buy a new car, or part ways with my car, so im manual swapping my Z3.
Info on my car,
-4spd auto
-1998 1.9L m44 motor (in car)
- I have an m44 motor with a getrag 220 (plan on building this motor while I put the gearbox in my original motor) 5spd manual attached to it which came out of a 318is. (With a slippy clutch)
- I have the 318is m44 ecu which I don't plan on using but is a good backup
My main questions are,
- will I need a new tailshaft for swapping the manual box onto the auto motor?
- what else do I need? Clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, tailshaft?? Clutch line, clutch pedal? Any and all info is welcome and I don't need anyone telling me "JuSt SeLl It AnD bUy A mAnUaL" I'm already committed and I have all the tools and manpower necessary to do it all in my garage.
