Finally the weather has been kind and had the chance to give the Zed a proper fettle with the DA.
All done now to try the Maguires ceramic spray.
It really is as easy to use as it states. After final rinse spray the ceramic wax over all the body panels. First application requires to be wiped with a drying towel straight after, further applications (at a later date) needs rinsing off before drying.
Don't know about beading qualities yet but do like the ease of use and the finish.

I should also take a look at what’s changed in the world of detailing, probably nothing apart from more over inflated products I don’t need 🤦‍♂️🤣

I don't think I've got enough paint left for a machine polish. My Z lives in a sand blasting wind tunnel, sorry car port. Still looks great when it's had a wash, like me?

Paul, like you I like the idea of a spray on, wipe off ceramic wax. Hope it's as good as other Meguiars Stuff.

After the rain last night thought i would check how the wax behaves. For comparison looked at the GT this was cleaned at the same time without the wax application. Not a lot of difference between the 2 although the Zed does have some run off indicating the Wax is doing something. Will probably run off better when driven.

Rain left some dirt and dust so hosed off,
Came up really well wax doing its job water running off well
Really easy to use but will work out more than traditional waxes
Bottle half empty and at £26 bit steep will probably go back to traditional wax on wax off.

Good run off

I am totally terrified about using a DA polisher on the Zed. Last time I tried it on my Montreal 2.8 I followed all the advice and stopped after doing the boot lid, it looked like it had been polished by a blind man with a Brillo. Had to have it professionally detailed, cost me a bloody fortune. :banghead:

I'm thinking about getting a panel from a scrap yard to practice on mate, no way would I dive straight in, I'd bugger it up :arghh:

If you want to have a ride to Derbyshire Somercotes I’d be happy to show you the basics, this offer extends to all 😉

Polished mine for the first time this year yesterday and just cant stop admiring...

Extra attention to the (misting) light lenses has added an extra sense of achievement.

Do some serious damage with that polisher in the wrong hands, great for getting swirls out and renovating tired paint.

Share your worries @Nodzed, I'm sure I'd just make mine look worse with a polisher.Black car and every little mark shows ! Simon (@MidlifeZ) is a detailing wizz, a lot more patient than me!
