Hi guys,
Thought i would introduce ourselves, i'm Dave and the other half is Viv, this is our 1st z4, it's a E85 2005 2.5ltre, in Toledo blue.
Everything is good about her,(as far as i know !) just needs the wheels refurbed etc, and run flats changing to something decent.
we have decided to get a hardtop, which we're fetching tomorrow, as it will be a nice weather toy only..
will post a pic as soon as i work out how to. cheers.

Very nice, but surely if it's a nice weather toy only you will only be needing the soft top (down!)
Regards

Hi Dave, :welcome: from me too in Staffordshire. Good choice of engine in your 4, just got one (3 weeks ago), very pleased:), however I am finding the ride a bit harsh on the run-flats. Will try the wheels (with 'normal' tyres) from the 3 on the 4 when I get a chance...

Hi Dave, a very nice car you've chosen there. I must say a hard top for a fair weather car wouldn't be my first choice, the wheels and tyres would be. Where are you located? I'm normally near Lincoln, in Florida at the moment.:)

Tony.

Thanks for the kind welcome guys, i live in a village (east leake) which is on the nottingham / leicestershire border.
To answer why we want a hardtop, it's because it will be parked up alot come the bad weather, and we have Kia sportage as a daily drive, and i have read about roof motors going etc, so thought it would be of benefit .
The top will be down every chance i get, don't you worry, as i am a biker at heart, as just sold my classic 1976 Trident t160 triple to get this Z, so looking forward to some good times and probably meet up with some of you, sometime , somewhere .....Drive safe.

an all weather car cover will be cheaper than a hard top and easier to store when not in use. cleaning the drain glands isn't difficult to keep the roof motor dry . im an ex biker too and have a mate with 3 tridents

Welcome from Truro. I used to have a 1978 T140E Bonneville, but have to say I wasn't in love with mine. I owned it a the same time that I had a 1979 BMW R80 Boxer that was miles and miles better. I sold the Bonny and bought an early GL1000 K2 naked Goldwing. Now that was a great bike.

The Z4 is a great car and you'll definitely enjoy it:cool:

Hello from Mansfield. Just up the road! I'd be inclined to agree with Paul. Get a good quality cover and save yourself some pennies and a load of grief when the sun comes out. Whip off the cover and drop the roof! :)

hi guys,
Been this morning and booked her in for the wheels to be refurbished, painted etc, plus all wheel bolts shot blasted and re-painted black, as they are really rusted up, total price £408 from The Wheel specialists in Nottingham, as i have read good reviews on Z4 forum..
Having them done same colour as i think it suits the Toledo blue of the car...Thanks for all your Welcomes and advice etc..
