Spent the evening reading with interest about the exhaust flapper valve fitted to one of my twin tail pipes - is it a no-brainer to disconnect and plug the vacuum line for better sound low down, or does the sound of it opening around 2500 rpm make for a better experience ? Or does it screw up low rpm fuelling ?
Thoughts please people !

Disconnect it and try it to see if you like the different sound. ;)

Thanks for your thoughts people, can't imagine it would unsettle the fueling at low rpm so will have a tinker over the weekend. Does seem rather pc to fit it in the first place !

Took a while to locate the control solenoid, anyway it's behind the left hand rear quarter cover inside the boot. Here's a pic to show location and mod - as you leave the pipe in place on the butterfly looks slightly neater.

I don't think people go to that extent, they just remove and plug vacuum hose.

Yep Wilko, agree they will. I wanted to trace the location of the solenoid so made sense to mod there when it was located. Hopefully the image may help others locate the solenoid if required.
