Hello from San Francisco, California.
This is my partner Tony’s Z3 (one owner, about 70,000 miles) but I’m in charge of it while he is out of town for a while. It was struggling to keep its battery charged but I found this forum only after I gave up and took it to a BMW dealer. A BMW shop that isn’t a dealer charged me two hours of diagnostics and claimed they fixed it. What crooks.
The dealer found the amp (original? aftermarket?) was drawing 0.8A! A new OEM amp from Germany is on back order and $2000 :-(. Apparently it is only powering the subwoofer though.
It also has a couple paint scrapes but the Atlanta blue paint is apparently discontinued??? I haven’t look online yet but if anyone has a lead on someone who makes touch up paint in that color would be appreciated.
Also the car has the same problem several of you mentioned which is that in the past he disconnected the passenger seat motor because it was drawing current. I want to get it all fixed up so the dealer will quote me on replacing the seat motor completely and we’ll see.
Other than that it’s a blast to drive and feels young and sprightly.
I look forward to learning more about maintaining this old car on this group.

The paint should still be available from paint match suppliers. I didn't see that color available on Turner but a quick search turned it up elsewhere. No personal recommendations though from me.

Hi and welcome from me.

I don’t mean to be rude but your money but I would cancel that order for the amp $2000 you can get batter value elsewhere.

If you want to stay oem you could possibly source a replacement amp from a breaker, eBay or Facebook market place for a mere fraction of that price or you could take the car to a audio specialist and have a upgrade in speakers and a new decent amp than the tat that BMW installed for that price.
