Write Up 20th Fortrose & Rosemarkie Classic Vehicle Rally

The 20th Fortrose & Rosemarkie Classic Vehicle Rally was held at King George V Sports Field within the historic Royal Burgh of Fortrose on the Black Isle north of Inverness on Saturday 31st August 2024, organised in conjunction with the local community council and under the banner of the Highland Classic Motor Club. We had first attended this event in August 2007, not in this car, on our wedding day, Sara in her wedding dress and me in full Highland dress, somewhat to the surprise of the others there!

This year, in glorious sunny weather, the day started by meeting up at the auction mart at Dingwall, then driving a scenic route through the Black Isle to Fortrose.







Z roadsters were represented by my red 1.9 Z3 and two Z4s. Out of the 172 cars, I decided to limit my photos to the Zeds and the ten other bright red roadsters present!

Unfortunately @Synclare , having asked those who were there, no-one has any photos of us at the 2007 car show. And yes, Sara is a good 'un, but then of course one has the opportunity to make a more informed choice second time round! In 2007, we got married at midday, had lunch and, it being a lovely afternoon some of us then went for a drive, to the car show, and then to the beach nearby at Chanonry Point, where someone snapped this:
