5 speed or 6?

Picking up my new to me Z3M on Monday so getting excited now!

I have noticed that some Z3Ms have a 5 speed gearbox and some 6 speed.
I know there are some extremely knowledgeable people on this site so which cars have a six speed box?

The car I’m getting is Year 2000 with a S50 engine and there are only 5 gears marked on the gear stick. Is it the newer models which are six speed?

Oh ok, yes that’s is possible! I’ve looked at so many adverts!

Z3 MR & MCs never had 6speed gearboxes fitted, although a conversion is possible. Depending on which gearbox is used it will involve modifying the propshaft and changing the diff ratio to get the best out of the conversion. The only one I know of is a chap from Z3 M Coupe Forum, Ragerover, his car if I recall has a E36 M3 6 speed box installed with revised diff ratio. It also has Nitrous Oxide plus a few other mods and goes like stink!!!
