My s***'s custom!
Well I've had a terrible fortnight with the zed.

First, it failed the MOT due to the lights. Apparently having the sidelights in the indicators on static is a fail...despite passing last year....at the same test centre...with the SAME tester!

I took it to a local BMW specialist to have the issue resolved. Had the calipers stripped and rebuilt whilst there as one has been sticky. Also had a new handbrake lever fitted so my bills have been stacking up....

Then I went a few days without hearing from the garage so my spidey senses started to tingle.... After making a few calls the owner rings me tonight to tell me it's all been sorted.

BUT.... Despite me being very clear about just how precious the car is, the owner has had to confess to scratching it! On the front bumper that I only had done for VanityBMW last year!

To make it worse I haven't even seen it so don't know how bad it is.

I'm devastated and will not be sleeping tonight.

Gutted for you but at least the damage and repair costs are down to them.
The plus side is you know a great painter that im sure will resolve it.
Not nice mate at all but at least they are honest enough to admit its there doing....

It's going back to Bodyworx for the repair. He was devastated when he had to tell me. Mind you I'd have been scared too! He's already said he's paying for it wherever I take it. Still gutting though.

Sorry to hear about the mishap - its always a worry when leaving your car with others. Hopefully they will settle the costs under your instructions as to who will repair the damage. Good luck.

My side lights are positioned within my indicators so when they're on they are Orange. When headlights are on the sidelights go out. Apparently side lights can't be orange. But is wasn't an issue last year. Also my indicators to the rear were too white as well... again, fine last year. All with the same tester as last year.

There was an issue with the handbrake too but that was sorted with a new handbrake lever.

Bad news about your bumper Mac:( but at least they have said they will pay for it. Not much comfort but there are a lot worse things that could have happened;)

We all love our cars. We all know how much work you put into your car so it must be galling to get the news that someone you trust to look after it has damaged it. At least they had the bottle to be up front with it and will pay for the repairs.
But, I'm sure you'd rather a scratch or dent on your car than a loved one. The car won't feel any pain and can be put back to its pristine state.
S**t happens. :(
Can be fixed.
Easy to fix.
Somebody else will pay.
Nobody hurt.
Will all be fine tomorrow.;)
As far as the MoT is concerned - who knows why.

Ok, I get that, front position lights have to be"white" and always have been, the rear indicators bulbs may have shed some of the orange coating, but the way I was told it on a refresher course was that they have to be WHITE or it's an advisory.

Tony.

Be glad the owner came across spontaneously and he's taking full responsibility of the damage. Where I come from I would be having a hard time proving that the car was in good state when it first got in.
