A little introduction

[Up North]

Well, my wife and I retired to northern Michigan 7 years ago bringing along Maggie our 1973 MGB. I've always been on forums or clubs for whatever I've got in the garage. Always found them very helpful. In addition to the MG I have a 2009 Mustang Bullitt edition with 7,500 miles and a 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser Trail Teams editionq as my year round transport. Wife also has a 2015 Audi Allroad. Great winter vehicles.
A back issue has led me to part ways with the MG after 49 years in the family. No other family members are into cars so no one to pass it on to. Haven't listed it yet for sale. A very emotional thing...lots of memories.
Can't be without a roadster to enjoy summer driving on the curving forest roads up here and my search has been whittled down to a 2001 or 2002 6 cyl. Z3. Only other BMW for me was a 1974 2002. My daily driver decades ago. Wonderful car!
Looking forward to BMW ownership again soon and conversing with other members of the forum.

I have a friend in Michigan who might give your MGB a good home.

You might also consider a 2003 - 2004 Z4 2.5i. They are a lot of fun with 5-speed manual gearbox. Very economical in both fuel consumption and price.

Last time I visited Michigan a mate took me to dinner atop GM Tower. The lift on the *outside* of the building offers a great view. Or so I’m told (my eyes were squeezed shut whilst I focused on my breathing).

Measured the Z4 and it won't fit between our freezer and the wall.

Changing gear is half the fun. Amazing how much pleasure can be derived from a perfectly timed well executed gear change.

Not many new cars in the US that offer manual gear boxes. Tried to get a manual when I bought my FJ Cruiser but they only account for about 5 to 10 percent here.

Just purchased a 2001 3.0 roadster with manual transmission. Found it in Central Texas but started it life in California with 41,000 miles. Waiting for a hauler to ship to its new home. Its Impala Brown metallic which I understand is a seldom seen colour. Tried to find production #'s but no luck so far.
Having driven it I now see how owners rave about these gems.
