Accelerator sensor fault?

As above , have the usual wet carpets , particularly the passenger side. Warning lights came on and code reader points to this sensor which happens to be no longer available and crazy secondhand prices on EBay.
Is there any way of testing off the car , funnily enough the front section where this sits wasn’t as wet as the rear floor space ,obviously been wet for a while as it’s corroded next to one of the floor bungs (see pics). The sensor looks ok and no corrosion on the plug, looks like lots to come out just to weld a small section of plate, wiring ,other sensors ,sound deadening etc, can anyone tell me what the Motorola box with the 6V battery connected is/ does? These look to have no fixings and siliconed to the floor? Think I have this wrong, the sensor pictured is the Yaw Sensor? The accelerator sensor is this one 5FEDA78D-46B2-4459-9467-1868A13EC314.png

No idea. i found it in a 996 Porsche, it was standard on that one. Better get rid of it.

Don't know if bmw dealer would instal one as an option. But some insurance companies insist on having them installed or give a discount.

Didn’t even know it was there, apparently they were fitted ( maybe optional) and you paid an annual subscription

At the time the Z3 was first available in the UK car theft was rife. Trackers were almost obligatory to get insurance. The original 'Tracker' was a one off payment, for life. I still have my card with the phone number should my car go walkabout.

The smaller (roundy) sensor is the 'lateral acceleration' sensor (yaw). The larger (rectangular) one is the 'rotational rate' sensor or acceleration sensor.
Both are really expensive and both mine have been cooked by moisture under the carpets.

Thanks for the reply’s. Couple of questions, can the car be driven with these faults, it’s my wife’s ( not so daily atm) ?

Even though there was moisture under the carpet most was to the rear section, no tell tell signs of water or corrosion on the sensors or connectors.

Sorry Zephyr I’m no tech, whats showing you there’s an issue with the sensor?

My version of inpa is mostly in German so no idea if theres a way of recalibration, anyone close to Bristol have a known Google one I could try before throwing more money away ?!!

These values are into the red area.
the steering is an easy fix as said above.
the lateral accelerator sensor could work if detached cleaned put back and reset.
i can not help with inpa, dont have the Z any more so can not plug it and take you step by step on the procedure. I am sure someone else in here either knows ze German, or has an English version. I am pretty sure it has a calibration/reset procedure, I have done it when my abs was on.

Thanks Zephyr, have used inpa for some of the simple resets and have the Creator code reader but as I said earlier I’m not good at understanding the tech and working out what it means!
Will have another look when it stops raining, I actually unbolted both sensors, the small round one sent the straight line on the code reader all over the place when loose so whatever moves inside appears to be working ,yet you clear the fault and it comes straight back.

Just a quick update for those that gave some advice, put the lateral accelerator sensor that I got from ebay USA and with much messing around with INPA have now managed to clear the fault code and therefore the dash lights.
The carpets are still drying even with a dehumidifier ( they hold a lot of moisture) ,the foam on the door was resealed and the water now comes out of the drains at the bottom of the door rather than between the door and the foam.
Just need a small plate welded where it’s corroded around the rubber floor bung and she can go back together, anyone in the Bristol area recommend a welder who will take on a small job?
