Airbag and engine management warning lamps

Hi folks

My b800 reset tool has always managed to reset airbag light in the past but not this time. The b800 comes up with table38 code fault 2 "warn lamp" but the scroll function on the b800 has stopped working so can't clear the fault.

I have checked the bulb which of course works otherwise the lamp would not have illuminated in the first case.

Any ideas?

Also my engine management light keeps coming on. The Indy has replaced 2 lamba sensors due to the fault code coming up but now the code is suggesting camshaft sensor is the issue. This sounds expensive has anyone else had this issue.

Welcome Ian!

I think I have had that error come up on mine using the B800, but for the life of me can't remember what it was specifically. Most of the time mine has put the light on because of something not being connected properly. Good news is that the B800's have really dropped in price and you can get them off eBay for abut £18.

There have been a few posts on here recently where people have ended up changing most of the sensors, and the camshaft sensor is one of the more common ones. Aceman usually answers those questions, and I'm sure he will be along soon.

I am here later rather than sooner though sorry.

Could well be a camshaft sensor as it is quite a common fault across the range of engines including the 1.8. They are not difficult to change yourself and cost around £80 from BMW, don't even think about getting a cheap one off ebay though as they don't last or even work at all stick with OEM.

Can't comment about your other problem with the scanner though I am afraid

The 1.8 cam sensor iirc is one of the easiest to change as it has a plug at the sensor end so should plug and play with the twist of a couple of bolts, get a BMW Sensor though, they cost around the price as suggested above by aceman.
