Was trying to see the price of alloy wheels as an alternate to getting mine refurbished.
So I saw these look nice, but would have to put a BMW roundel in.
Wolfrace Eurosport Bayern
Alloy Wheel Size:
17
Front Tyre Size: 235/40R17 Rear Tyre Size: 235/40R17

The snag I have is the my wheels are different they are type 42.
front 225 45 r17
rear 245 40 r17
Is this normal, does it matter, would prefer to get them refurbished to keep OEM look but also looking at options.

Should be 225/45/17 all round unless staggered set up then 225/45/17 front and 245/40/17 rears

My preference is yes. Some will disagree. Costs more for staggered sets as the tyres are wider on the rear but in my experience the cars handle a whole lot better

Depends on the wheel widths. If they are the same on both wheels ie 7.5 then should have the same tyre size

If my memory serves me right you need to have the fronts size 71/2" and the rears should be 8"

Are you planning on putting existing tyres onto new wheels

I have no idea what this means, sorry
It's the stud pattern for the bolts. If the wheels you buy aren't this pattern, then you can't bolt them on...

I think I need to see a wheel shop as 7 1/2" and 8" don't mean much to me thought I was clever knowing the tire size, there it more to this than meets the eye some googling I feel is in order.

The new wheels will need to be 7.5" front and 8.5" rears with an offset of 41

If you find the wheels you want give rimstyle a call and they will tell you exactly what you need to buy. You can go on there website and it will give you the option of the different set ups. I have had my last 2 sets from here. Very good service

That sounds like a good plan, see there price then get the refurbished price.
Thanks for the replies and Happy New Year.

Going on the Wolfrace website they have a system which checks to see which of their wheels will fit. I filled these options in, and it shows the wheels you are looking at as a correct fitment.

3rd/4th wheel from the left is the one you are looking at.

It then shows what they would look like on the Z3 with a mock up.

I have had a quick look and you would need 225/45/17 tyres all round on these wheels as they only come in a 7.5" width

Thanks Gary £453 seems a great price and they look ok for that price, will have to see how much it will cost for the OEM look, did find a site selling the new style 42s for £1300 odd that seems OTT.
