I hope someone out there can help. I've just removed the CD changer so that I can liberate a bit more boot space by removing the hump. The problem is that the amplifier is piggy backed on top of the CD changer and sits inside the hump. Where is the amplifier mounted on cars that dont have the hump/CD changer bracket?
Thanks in advance.

The Harmon Kardon amp is usually mounted on the right hand side of the boot behind the carpet trim.

Thanks for the quick replies chaps. My amp is Alpine, not HK. I've made up a little bracket and tucked it front of the roof pump. I now have a useable boot AND a radio :)
I'll be embarking on this soon too as I'm getting rid of my hump.

Got Harmon kardon so gonna see where the amp goes

I'm sure I saw a post on here from someone looking for a hump boot carpet.

Same for me, are the wires for the amp long enough to reach to the roof pump or did you need to extend them?

There isn't a lot of spare cable, that's for sure. I managed to get enough to sit the amp between the roof pump and the wheelarch and made up a bracket to hold it in place. It was quite snug against the boot trim when I refitted it, but it all went back tidily. I did find a pic of the BMW mounting bracket - it's a typically robust and chunky device and would definitely need the cables to be lengthened in order to use it.
