Angel Eyes Fitting

My Sonar Angel eyes arrived today, so have begun looking at fitting advice, Jonttt has posted a fantastic piece which covers everything for me except for the Halo rings on a pre face lift, does anyone know which wires and where need to be tapped into for the rings to work. The pre face lift as standard has sidelights in the headlight, is it as simple as wiring into the side light plug, as the halos will be used as side lights?

Hi,

When we fitted mine the guide I was supplied said to take the feed from the bumper marker lights. Just double checked it to refresh myself.

I can email you a copy of the PDF if you want, not much info on the electrics though.

Cheers, Gary

Thanks Gaz, that's what my instructions say, but as mine is pre face lift it does not have side markers in the bumpers :(

Yep use the sidelights wiring no matter if it's bumper or earlier headlight unit fitting

Thanks Jonttt, I will wire the rings into the side light fitting on the headlamps on that basis, and then they will be fully plug and play :)

Glad that's sorted then.

For my shame I had assumed that as bumper lights came on as sidelights, that you would be inspired to use the side light feeds. :ymblushing: Glad Jonttt was paying full attention, unlike me.

It's not your fault Gaz, and I think the information helps both owners of old and new versions, just imagine if this was an iPhone forum phew!

To be totally honest, I hate the bloody things, why would anyone want to make their car look like a ' Fairground Attraction' as among others (Audi top of the list) have done beats me. Rant over, each to their own and all that.

These are not DRLs like the current trend of dazzling LEDS on permanently as Audi started. The halo really are not that bright and you should run them with your sidelights not instead of. If you have the early cars with sidelights in the headlight unit rather than bumper then the replacement units still facilitate fitting these back in.

Ps must remember to turn the DRLs off my daily driver :D

Will take you up on that, the units have side bulbs in so will leave in place and try them first.
