Another roof problem.

So few days ago I tried to close the roof as usual and it got stuck in the middle. I closed it manually and from that time roof is not working. Well, the motor on top of the soft top works, it locks and unlocks the roof on the windscreen but the main motor or pump seems to be dead. OBD shows no errors so I recon the sensors are fine, I tried to disconnect the battery.
I managed to get my hands on a motor and it seems dry and clean, I didn’t removed it from its housing though.
Any ideas what to do next? What could be the problem?

There are loads of threads on here and the Z4 Forum in respect of roof failures and, dependent on where you are based, there are several roof expert members that could solve your problem (whatever it is!). Let us know your location and someone will point you to a suitable contact.

Not too sure who your closest roof specialist is but I used Mike @ducklakeview over in the Wirral (about 65 miles from you). He renovates and relocates roof motors at a reasonable cost if you can't sort it from the other threads that have been suggested. HTH.

Whoa! I managed to fix it myself :D
What I think the problem was:
Bowden cable was propably stretched as it wouldn’t retract to its normal working position that caused leak in hydraulic system. I managed to get the roof motor out to the boot, clean it, top up hydraulic fluid, fix the Bowden cable with that white thingy on it and it works! As good as new.
Now I have to fix it somewhere in the boot.
I’m really proud of myself.

Quite a few threads here and on Z4 Forum plus You Tube videos showing roof motor relocation to the boot. Good luck and well done! :)
