I have an annoying problem ….. No not that one! This one is Z3 related !

I only have 1 speed on the wipers and the wipers do not park properly (any random place when you turn them off!). I don’t have intermittent OR once wipe either

So far I’ve
Checked the fuses (maybe I’m missing the obvious ?) also changed …..
The wiper control module
The wiper stalk
The wiper motor and mechanism

and still no improvement ….

I also have lost the digital dash computer at the same time (it doesn’t light up or display anything any more??)
could this be linked ??

so ….. any suggestions or assistance welcomed

THANKYOU

Could be the pick ups inside the motor needing cleaning and regressing.

Did you use electrical contact cleaner on the plug at the motor itself? Did you fit a new motor or even a known good one?. If you disconnect the wiring plug from the motor you can power each stage of the motor by “feeding” the contacts using a power probe.
That would rule out a motor fault.

Thankyou Tony
The replacement is supposed to be good used one (but ebay isn’t the most reliable source ??) …. I did spray it with electrical contact cleaner ….
BUT I will try the power up for the old one and check ……
Which is the neutral On the connector …. And I will give it a try !
Wondering IF the blanking of the dash computer at the same time could be linked ?? Bad earth ?? Or bad feed ?
Cheers

If you use a power probe to test/power up there’s a built in trip so you can’t damage anything. I’m not sure which terminal is the earth but you should be able to find it easily enough. Likely a solid brown wire?
