About 12 months ago I bought some armrests and seatbelt guide fix Z .i got them from Sothernboy .they are still in excellent condition and look and feel really great

I like the arm rest :-D was it easy install? Does it fold up? How much?:-D
10 min to instal no drilling,folds up only thing the cup holder could be fractionally bigger but saying that I've had no problems with it
I have the seat lift kit as well,I find it comfortable 2500 miles in France with a bad back no problems,it seems to fit me,it's fairly simple to fit to the car

I got one of southernboys armrests earlier this year and I can confirm it's very nice too. As for the seatbelt guide repair I think mine is as good but lot's less expensive although it maybe doesn't look as nice as Barry's to be fair.

I was going to have a go at fixing it with a new guide but I'm to lazy.i seem to be repairing something all the time bikes ,tractors ,chainsaw this seemed like an easy fix and it was .10 mins and I was driving happy days.
Absolutely Hugh, and they look good too. My idea consists of two self tappers and two pieces of brake pipe about 5-6mm long. Only pennies, my Dad, bless him, was from Yorkshire. Very careful. Plus with my repair you can still take the belt out of the guide too.

The best and cheapest repair I have ever seen, even though it was nearly invisible, was this:
If you can rotate the broken guides slightly, with a small drill bit drill two holes, one in the top part and one in the bottom part. Glue and insert a steel pin to fit and that's it.

Sorry, but I need a bit more explanation. I need the guides replaced on both seats, and cannot understand how they were attached.
Are you drilling through the plastic guides? There is already a hole in the seat ... is there not?
Before long, I will need to repair the seat covers .... I'm thinking I should wait on the guides until after the upholstery work is done.
Finally, why not just epoxy glue the guides to the upholstery? The OEM guides look pretty fragile to me.
Hi @Felt Stirling the fix I mentioned is for seat belt guides that have only broken to the point that they are loose on the seat.
If they have come away completely, that is a whole different ball game.

The Z fix I have on my guide comes with 4 small screws. I have black ones on the 2.8 and silver on the M .if you are doing the seat covers it would be easier to put new guides then their not so expensive.It not to difficult as a little project I've thought of doing it but in the end I cba
My guides are totally shot and the previous owner has also used some form of mastic as well just for good measure. New guides arrived from Soper's today and the seat bushes yesterday. SO a busy weekend coming up refurbishing seats, if I can get the base covers off there's a little stitching required as well (job for wifey !!). I could have left them but these are the little things that bug me every time I get into the Z.
Yes the bushes really bugged me and I should of done the guides at the same time but once the seat was back in......

I attended the seat bush workshop back in September and although mine were not that bad I still wished I had them replaced then by Lee & Duncan (the experts) but I knew the guides were shot so have always planned to do them together once the seats are out.
The recent thread on heated seats getting hot demonstrated really well on removing the base covers so this is going to be a real test together with the article on seat belt guide replacement it should be a piece of cake he say's!!
