On a similar theme to the Key's thread

where do i start?

on my old E46 and my Volvo if i lock the car then press and hold the Lock button the windows will all go up

and if i press and hold the open all the windows will go down.

NOW

I am sure when i did this on the z3 it also worked, but i did it today and nothing had to open the car back up put key in ignition and put the windows up.

now i am questioning myself if it did do it in the past !

can the car be set up to do it ????

doesn't appear to work on my z3 - though does work on a friend's older (S) 528 Touring - same key

I have never seen this on Z3.

Stevie,

The following works to close the windows, put the key in the drivers side door lock and turn the key to the left to lock the door, keep the key left for a few seconds and the windows will raise until shut. IIRC you have to keep the key to the left whilst the windows raise.
