In the good old says prior to gas fires of today. We used to burn real aircraft when the Fire School was at RAF Catterick, even better.

On Graduation day after the Ladder/pump/hose drills and RTA Demo for family we'd light up all the fuel bunds and the AVTUR mainframe (essentially the whole burning ground was alight) then send in the recruits in the large foam tenders. We called it 'The Road to Bashra'. Very impressive

Hot would be the word but yes, very impressive to see. You need to be on your toes though as despite 17 weeks training the recruits family are watching so they can on occasion get carried away. Wouldn't want anybody going up in flames, that would be bad.
