My current E89 doesn't have the storage compartment package and consequently there is no net on the backrest rear panel.

However, the retaining clips and also the upper and lower retaining rings are all present.

With the much bemoaned absence of cup holders and general lack of cabin storage I cant help think that someone must have made effective use of this space but a search on the forum has thrown up nothing.

So come on don't be shy show us what you've done to maximise that unique E89 storage space which is the back rest rear panel ;)

Isn't that for loading long objects through from the trunk such as a ski or nice size baguette.

The door you can see in the photo opens and if you have the through loading feature you can stick baguettes, skis and more likely from a UK perspective golf clubs through the gap.

But my question relates to the shelf you can see in the picture which effectively runs behind the driver and passenger seats. The clips you can see often hold a storage net but I'm thinking the retaining rings could be used a bit more ingeniously.
