I love bicycling but, due to time constraints while working, it was mainly around where I live. Now that I am retired, would like to put a bicycle rack on my Z3 M roadster. I have reservations about the type that latch over the trunk as they might create a visible rub and/or damage the paint around the latch hooks. The only other option is to add a small hitch. Any thoughts about bicycle hitches?

My other half wants a bicyle rack. I refuse to entertain the strap on sort for one reason or another. I've told her I think we should only look at the hitch type.

I have the Saris Bones, will work perfectly on your Z3M, (just point I have not fitted to mine) Used regular on the daily, no scratches, marks or strap marks on the paint work. Modern bike racks have moved on a bit.

Heres the USA site

Thanks for the tip. The Saris Hitch 2 is a very nice looking hitch, way better than a comparable Thule. It might even compliment my M.

I like your M, too. You take good care of it.

Thank you I try, but it hasn't been all down to me she is also a Zedshed HQ maintained zed, so has had the love she deserves from more people than just me ;):)

However, it gets done doesn't matter. That she loves her M enough to have professionals take care it is a good thing. As for me, I grew up during the muscle care era (mid-1960s to early '70s) in the U.S. Maintaining a sharp-looking vehicle was as important as the cruise afterward. I am a pretty good detailer, so I enjoy doing it myself. It also give me a venue to vent my perfectionism :)
