These do not come on to the market very often, especially if they are a complete kit and in good condition.

Yep, it doesn't do the car any favours, and I imagine it's a total pain in the bottom as well to get the roof up if the weather turns bad.

An exercise in being different for the sake of being different! As with the tonneau cover, it may be fine if you live in California, and park securely before and after every journey, but otherwise forget it!

At the end of the day looks are subjective but personally I'm with you @the Nefyn cat - of all the Zed's Ive owned (Z3, E85, E86 & E89) I would have to say the Z3 is my favourite from an aesthetic perspective. Which is probably why I can never understand why anyone would buy one with the intention of removing all the panels only to replace them with a god awful rebody kit - not seen one yet that looks better than when it started

"Each to their own", "it's a good job we all have different tastes" all those phrases come to mind.....but sorry, I don't see how anyone could think a Z3 is better looking than an E89. That's just mad! ;)
Just for reference, here are pictures of both of mine, taken from virtually the same angle in the same place, only 3 months apart:

There are not many ways to make an ugly car uglier but the speedster kit manages to pull it off!
Strange comment to say the least on a Z forum.
And a no from me ……..why would you buy a Z then try to make it look like something else? It’s always going to be a poor imitation of whatever it’s imitating, why not just purchase something you like that you can actually afford.

Just because you can do a thing it doesn't mean you should

I don't think so. I own a "Z Roadster" which I think is a very attractive looking car.
I also own another "Z Roadster" which I think is one of fugliest things on the road (or off in my case).

This is the Z roadster forum, not the "everybody must adore the Z3" forum.

Different opinions make for an interesting mix IMO.

My Z3 is an awful lot lighter now it has no body panels and big holes cut in it. Such a shame! 🤭

Even if it was cheap I don’t think many people would bother. For me, the humps behind the seats are not pronounced enough and because their length is constrained by the boot, they’re too short. I think the Jaguar Project 7 looks quite good with its D-type hump and the Z07 Speedster concept was interesting, but the speedster kit on the Z3 just seems to be trying too hard.
