Just finished a great day at Snetterton, Bonzo came along in his zed and enjoyed a good few laps. Weather stayed dry all day but bl**dy hell there was a right cold wind.

My car performed superb all day, big respect to the humble Z3 :)

Darren Teagles was on hand taking photos so will post some up when he publishes them.

A red S50 Z3M was on hand with a full Hanman body kit and the biggest set of brakes I've seen on a zed, a local to the area I believe?

Spent yesterday boating round Donington Park circuit :wideyed:, yes it was that wet! The heavens opened at 9ish and the rain stayed with us until 15:30, what a day!

This has been my first track day when it has been properly wet, the spray of the cars in front made it impossible to see anything, a whole new learning curve! With the wet weather I was able to stay out on track for longer periods of time but I did keep the DSC switched on all day though and boy did this save me on more than one occasion.

I don't think I have concentrated so hard since I took my GCSEs. I stayed local to the circuit last night and travelled back today, good job as I was absolutely Knackered.

Darren Teagles was on hand again to take some pics so I'll post them when he publishes them, I also have some video of the day that I will get around to putting on youtube.

Also picked up D of the D :)

Well done on the DoD Brian. I imagine that would be similar to driving over here in a thunder storm, we've had to pull over and wait for it to ease off before now. You can understand why they don't run at Daytona and such places when it rains! Did everyone stick it out to the end?

Tony.

Thanks @t-tony, the car park did empty mid afternoon, a few did not even turn up after looking at the weather forecast.

So the last BMWCC Track-day at Oulton Park went ahead on Friday 6th November, I arrived at the track at 07:30 bright eyed and bushy tailed to find the weather slightly overcast with a risk of showers throughout the day. With the car off the trailer and the usual faffing out about that ensues the time for the morning briefing was upon us, after the briefing session a couple of sighter laps is required per car/driver and then we are let loose. From the time I arrived to the time I went out on track, mother nature had decided to sprinkle some of the wet stuff, making it a wet track! I have got to say that I had a blast, finding grip was tricky and the limits in the braking zones were found with a little experimentation, sometimes resulting with a quick heart in the mouth moment!

The track in general had quite a lot of grip apart from the Knickerbrook complex of curves, this was super greasy, the smallest amount of throttle resulted in the rear of the car moving about, patience was the name of the game in these corners!

My brother-in-law was a passenger with me on Friday and I lost count how many we times we has a synchronised whoooaa's as we slipped about.

Early afternoon, just after lunch a dryish line started to appear which for 30 mins or so was bloomin good fun, My B-I-L was taken aback a little how fast the pace picked up and at one point had a tussle with a 1MCoupe which was fun, he was not for yielding! Note to self, I need more grunt out of the corners…….Hmmmmmmm!

Below is a small vid taken after lunch, enjoy :) (time is out by 1 hr and no sound! This is on my winter project list.)

Can not believe you let an bread van overtake you
ha ha, there was a plan, the 1M Coupe I was following would not let me past, I was far quicker than him in the corners, I was 5-7 seconds a lap quicker when not behind him :bashhead:, the plan was to let the breadvan past and follow him through, that did not work as the driver of the 1M would not let the breadvan past either, a short while after this clip ended the breadvan was on the grass!

Looks like an great day out, what was the grip like?
Changeable throughout the day, one part of the track stayed greasy bar one 1/2hr slot, I was running on dry track tyres (not wets) so coped pretty well I reckon.
