I have a 1999 1.9
This weekend whilst driving in North Devon/Somerset I had an issue with my braking, coming down a steep hill between Lynton and Lynmouth.
There is a hairpin bend about half way down, approaching this bend and braking hard I felt a vibration through the brake pedal and "metallic" sound. I managed to stop the car, hold it on the handbrake for a while, but had to get it down the hill. I put in first and continued very slowly, I didn't get the vibration again, but it was a squeaky bum moment. Needless to say travelling on to Minehead, I opted for the toll road rather than attempt going down Porlock Hill.
My service a couple of weeks ago, identified a "weeping" front caliper, which is booked in to be changed next week, I am just wondering if the two are likely to be linked or if I have another issue.
Any feed back appreciated.
