Broken aerial

Hi guys

I had the misfortune to snap my aerial on my zed, I went to my local car audio place and they said it will need the genuine BMW part.
I have lifted the last image off the net, but mine has broken in exactly the same place.
Can it be repaired or do I need a new unit?

Cheers Andy, I'll ring up and get a quote from Wellsway BMW in Bath tomorrow. If it's frighteningly expensive, I'll be in touch.
I'm not sure how tricky they are to replace and I don't want to bodge it up, as it could let water in if not done properly.

Yes it can be fixed. Mine was broken in the same place. You will have to extend the central wire. Drill a hole in the small bit that's broken and solder in a new wire.

I've bitten the bullet and ordered the replacement antenna from my local BMW dealer for £85 +VAT.
They wanted £108 +VAT to fit it, though. Hmmmm Sod that!
