I've been looking for a newish but retro looking radio for my zed and low and behold, I got a new works van a month or so ago and it came with one that ticked all the boxes for me. It's a "plain Jane" looking item but I thought it would suit me down to the ground. It's DAB, FM and AM with bluetooth so it does everything I want it to do.

I searched Ebay and low and behold there are loads of them. I got mine for £30 delivered, and it was taken out of a new vehicle when they upgraded the system. The problem I have is that it is a bare unit without any wiring loom/harness.

Can anyone advise the type of wiring adapter I need to fit it to my car please? I've sent the above photos to a number of auto entertainment companies but so far no one has responded.
I've also looked on Ebay but I can't see any that look like they'd fit the socket on the radio.

That will be a Ford specific connector. Not sure you’ll find an off the shelf BMW to Ford adapter. Most after market stereos have iso fixings so adapters are readily available. Many on here (inc myself) have these Blaupunkt units..DAB, BT and period looking

I am sorry, but I think you should look for a radio that's ISO compatible, and just buy an IBM to ISO wiring harness. Trying to add a proprietary connector (Ford) to another (BMW) would involve some serious crap… I think, BMW to ISO; Ford to ISO, then a female (rubbish term) to female ISO coupler.

The alternative would be to learn the pin outs for both radios then try to come up with you own custom wiring.

Or, you could go with one of the modern but retro looking Blaupunkt Nurnberg or the Bremen SQR 46 (which looks amazing). But, if the cost is too high, and you have an existing CD43, then a Bluetooth adapter would be an idea. None of them will cost 30 squids, though.

It’s called a quad lock connector, extra connections for steering wheel controls.
This may do.

Quite a good idea, last one I did I had to figure out the power and use mini connectors and insulating tape.
Let us know how it works, I need to put a stereo in mine, that would be ideal.

I've seen the Quadlock but it's not compatible with my headset. I've got an identical radio in my works van which is a new Ford Connect so looks like I need to take the radio out and have a look at it and go from there.

Unfortunate. Every day is a school day. Obviously later than the one I did for my mate.

If I remember he had a Renault to 20 pin iso connector, ( I know that one is Ford, same name of connector), not much use since it was the ‘wrong way round’. But it did let us figure out which were speaker and which were power/aerial connections. The steering wheel connections are surplus.
Then he discovered that connector, which would have saved a full afternoon.
If you have access, that’s what I’d do, unless there’s a similar iso conversion socket for the year of stereo, that would give you the pin out.
After the hassle with the last one I’d visit a scrappy for a connector and repopulate it with iso plugs.

I found this photo during an online search but I'm colour blind so I'm needing some assistance with wire positions, but I can overcome that. Biggest problem is finding a suitable plug as some of the pins are turned through 90 degrees. I've sent messages to some Ebay sellers in China where most of these wiring harnesses are made these days so I'll wait for their response.
