Can anyone recommend a two handed polisher for the car. I seem to remember a thread in the past about such machines but do not know where it is.
Any advice and or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Geoff

Totally agree with this. I'm buying a das 6 off a forum member as a novice and have used the halfords one and it is absolutely rubbish. No power at all and the design means the cable gets rapped around it. Steer well clear.

It really depends on what you are aiming to achieve. If it is just to keep the car polished then the DA is fine if it is for more heavy swirls, paint correction or trying to bring back faded colour then you will need a Rotary Polisher

I know I know! Works been manic and everything's been manic and everything. :(The suspension is being changed next weekend so going to do it after the greasy bits are done. Seems more sensible to do the spanner work first.

Make sure you work the cutting stage so you can see the paint through the residue of the compound (till its transparent) Then work the yellow on a faster speed and shine a light to make sure you can not see any swirls or light cutting marks if you can do it again with the yellow only.

I just thought that as I have a problem with my wrists (rheumatism) a two handed one would be good, but it seems from posts that they are no good, the DAS 6 I think is a bit pricey for something that will only be used very little.
My car is in good condition just thought that I would give it a good polish before winter as I use it as a second car,

I have a 2 handed one picked up very cheap at Aldi. I thought it was fine. Then I got a King Barney dual action machine and see the difference.

If you think of the 2 handed ones as a substitute for applying/buffing by hand then you have the right expectation.

I like the way you hold a 2 handed compared with a DA but not sure if they make properly powerful 2 handed machines.

This is what the car came up like using Autoglym super resin polish (which is ok to apply by hand) and the Aldi polisher.

If you have rheumatism then DO NOT buy a Dual Action machine.
It will cause you big problems with the condition you have.
Best thing in your position is to do it by hand or pay someone else to do it.

Sorry to be blunt but a DA will not be good for your condition.

This, i wouldn't want to be using a mechanical polisher at all with Rheumatism as they are all vibrations and even with no problems leave your hands exhausted.

Thanks chaps for all your advice beginning to think that I will not bother unless I can find a cheap light weight one as it will only be used rarely to give the extra shine.
