Happy new year to you all from Vancouver.
Thank you so much for the mutual respect and assistance to all us Z3 owners throughout 20018!
My Z is a 2002 3ltr sports version. 50000K
Clutch has always been stiff.Have to let our considerabley before biting, however no slip.
I am considering replacing the clutch hose with a stainless steel hose and removing the CDV.
Looks like I can get the hose from Earles, over there.
It would appear that such an implementation will help ease the stiffness of the clutch.
What do you guys think?
Charlie

It will definitely make it feel better and crisper on the gear changes but I don't think it will totally eliminate the stiffness this will most likely be from the pressure plate.

No problem, I remove the CDV off all my cars and fit a braided line for that reason.

I've never carried out the mod for that reason the stiffness seems to vary. Makes it feel nicer that's for sure..

Well worth doing both as @Lee says . I did mine and changed the gear oil made a big difference.

Thank you Billy.
It would appear I’m going in the right direction.
A relative inexpensive improvement considering the benefits.
In a response Lee had stated such a procedure may improve the stiffness of the clutch, however he thinks my issue may be more related to the pressure plate.
The vehicle has relatively low mileage, suggesting modest use of the clutch since new.(mostly highway driving)
The bite occurs at the near full release of the clutch, which is becoming increasingly difficult to master when waiting for the off on an incline.
Indeed I do thank you for your response.
If other members can shed light that would also be beneficial.

Hi I did this mod on my Z3M and it made a very positive improvement to the clutch operations, before the mod the clutch was very stiff and released just off of the floor.
Cheers Chris

Changed to a braided hose on both my 2.0 and 2.8 as well as changing the oil and didn't make much difference at all. Mine must never had a CDV valve fitted, I read somewhere some come with them and some without them.

Thank you Chris.
Very informative, and reassuring.
All the best.
