Cheap Z3M but something's wrong

On autotrader. An insurance Cat D.Either they have reshelled it or not bothered to put the correct front end on the car

Yeah, that's gonna need a thorough front end inspection to be getting started with. May be cheap at 12k, but sourcing a correct front bumper isn't gonna be cheap even it if is good underneath!

A catD should not have required a reshell i wouldn't have thought more likely repaired on the cheap.

There was a coupe recently which was the same, the wrong form on bumper on it

Something fishy with that. The advert is half hearted at best and no attention to detail whatsoever. If i was selling something half that price it would read a damn sight better than that.

There's full of people buying wrecked cars on the cheap and making them look good...still on the cheap.
Knowing how prone the Z3 is to try to kill rookies and head towards side walls, I usually walk away as fast as I can if I only see the wrong gaps on a front end...let alone the wrong bumper.

could be as simple as the M bumper was wrecked in the Cat D crash and a standard wide mouth bumper was put on as much easier and cheaper to source

An M bumper is £400 ish new from BMW.
That's the only difference on the front end.
Could have been repaired by someone who didn't know what the correct bumper is for these, they not a common sight after all.
Believe it or not here are M owners who have deliberately changed the bumper for the 2.8 one as they prefer it.
