Hi, need some advice please....
I recently sanded back a few imperfections in the headlights.
01. 1500 grit east west, dry sanding
02. 2000 grit north south, wet sanding
03. 3000 grit east west, wet sanding
The lights are now somewhat foggy which is to be expected. When the top coat is applied it should be perfectly clear. The issue is that on a test run by spraying a clear acrylic top coat [spray can] the surface seemed to be a somewhat unclear even after I got the DA and polished them. Shiny but not quite as good as I was hoping and have seen on youtube tutorials. I am now scared to try to apply the UV top coat spray as I don't want to have to sand it all off and start again. I did leave them in the sun to make them warm and also the paint was slightly warm. It seems that the paint did not 'flatten' enough to provide the wet look clarity.
Any ideas on what I did wrong?
