hey everyone, any good tips for cleaning out the roof top rain sumps? I am going to take on the roof motor relocation project but wanted to know if there are any suggestions for cleaning the muck out of of the sumps without removing the soft top. any tools that are particularly useful?

Use something long and flexible to rod the drains out from the bottom under the sill and use soapy water as @lucky jim suggests to clear the drains, probably best to relocate the motor to the boot first. Once you manage to cut the tie wrap(s) holding the motor case in there it should lift out so you can wrangle it back into the boot.

Thanks, for advice. i think i decided to pull the soft top off to do a thorough cleaning of sumps, drains, and to relocated the motor (which is currnelty not working). more work, but probably needed in a 2005 vehicle with 90K miles.
