Clutch line replacement

I have recently purchased a 1999 2.8 with 56 k on the clock. I am finding changing from first to second without crunching a problem . The pedal has to be down to the floor and the revs have to be allowed to drop before a clean change . I have heard that replacing the standard rubber clutch line with a stainless steel unit from Earls may solve the problem and also doing away with the restricter. Has anyone done this? And does it work ? Is the restricter in the standard pipe on the 2.8 or somewhere else.
I will not be doing the job myself but passing it on to my good local garage , who will also replace fluid and bleed both couch and brakes.
