Code reader for 1997 M44 Z3

I understand that the Creator 310+ is well recommended as a code reader. Said to be OBDII in the advertisements.
My car is OBDI (Apr 97 build). Does anyone know if the Creator 310+ works on OBDI cars please? Can't find anything definitive on this elsewhere!

I have a 98 M44 and the Creator 310 works fine. It does have the OBD style connector but there's an adapter you can get separately that allows you to connect it to the round connector under the bonnet.
