I've just ordered one of these as I've used the one Lee has. The C110 code reader is around the same price and works just as well.

Both will read and reset fault codes.

I've had one like this too for 2 years, great little bit of kit but has its limitations. Used it yesterday on Tony Wilsons Z4 when I tested it.

Tony.

The maxscan gs500 works also on the earlier '96 models?
@GazHyde , @t-tony did any of you tested on a 96 Zed? It works?

(They say all cars produced in US in 96 are compatible with obd2.) Want to be sure before ordering. :)
Last one (that I bought) never came to me; probably somebody thought is a mobile phone inside the package...:(

I believe 96 was the year all mfg went with OBDII technology so you should be okay! Sounds like you have the same problem as my son in Chile with things not getting delivered through the post. We send everything to his wife's office, seems the penalty is greater if stealing from a business. I bought the C110 from a source in China and it came with the added adapter for the same price as the one's in the U.K. and free shipping to boot! Just takes a few days longer to get to you.

Well ,this thread reminded me my "lost in post" :(diagnose tool,a year ago and decided me to get something...at the end. Looking on internet I bought an interface ELM 327 OBDII and a cable adapter from 20 pin BMW to 16 pin OBD.
The interface uses my android phone with OBD Car Doctor or Torque, through Bluetooth (which is very comfortable either).
The interface works for 96 to nowadays all vehicles (brands) having OBDII socket.
With BMW is using protocol ISO 9141-2.
Very happy ! :thumbsup:It costed me only 13 EUR! Its weight is 34g and is not bigger than a matchbox. You can keep it in the OBD socket while your phone can display, in real time, many infos not present on the dashboard.:)
