Just be careful - over the past couple of montIs I have become a victim of a similar but very clever 'Eastern European' scam whilst out in the Z3.

Here's how the scam works:
Two very good-looking 20-21 year-old girls of eastern European origin come over to your car and compliment you on its general appearance. They both start cleaning your windscreen, their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T- shirts. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they'll say 'No' and instead they ask you for a lift to another supermarket. You agree and they both get in the passenger seat.
On the way there, they start undressing, until both are completely naked. Then, when you pull over to remonstrate, one of them climbs over and starts crawling all over your lap, kissing you, touching you intimately and thrusting herself against you, while the other one steals your wallet!
I had my wallet stolen on September 4th, 9th,10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, 24th and 29th. Also on October 1st, 4th, 6th, 9th and 10th and twice yesterday. So please warn other drivers you know to be on the lookout for this scam.
The best times seem to be just before lunch and about 4:30 in the afternoon
=))

I had exactly the same thing happen today. Came out of Asda to see some lads around my zed, thought "what are them buqqers up to?". Being in a disabled space with plenty of space around one lad had been taking photos. As I went to it he asked if it was o k to take photos, "sure" I said. He loved cars including BMW's and showed me other photos he had on his phone.
So there you are, my suspicious mind at work when it was just some lad who liked cars. No scratches or snapped mirrors! Kind of restores your faith in people.
So, later on, they check the MOT and decide if the car is a candidate for their “used parts” business?

Beware of the Greeks bearing gifts…
Maybe the photos are the Trojan horse of these clever guys.
Old Greek proverb says that when we feel flattered we open our mouth more than needed.
(Actually it is a parable where a crow is sitting on tree branch and has a piece of cheese in its mouth. The clever fox passes by and says to the crow, oh my, that is such a big piece of cheese! Only the bravest and most clever crows can grab such a big chunk from the cellar. How on earth did you manage to do it? Can you share your wisdom?
The crow flattered tries to speak and explain, but while it opens its mouth the cheese drops to the ground and the fox eats it.
so, sometimes, we say too much (like yeah, I have this for five years, new tyres, engine, seats, its my pride and joy) to people who have darkest intentions than we presume.
Sorry for being a pr|ck but over here we have learned this the hard way… a local gang actually made a facebook group about Mazdas and people rushed in to show their cars and talk about the mods they made. And all of a sudden, cars started disappearing… until one of the members a policeman caught the group admin in the act, trying to lift the car from the street with a small trailer…..

See, nothing wrong with a healthy dose of cynicism. And maybe some paranoia, too.:bag:
