According to my owners manual, the battery jumper terminal on the firewall is the positive connection and the terminal on the LF fender (with the red dot) is the negative terminal. Everything I ever learned about battery connections say red is positive. Whazup????
Yes, I know, the engine compartment needs a serious cleaning. on the job.

I don’t know why you have a red dot, mine is black.

The red dot on the neg. terminal is just the end of the stud which the terminal is screwed onto and it was painted red with the rest of the car?
Mike's is black because his car is black. My old Z3 had a green dot because the car was Oxford Green etc.etc.

AHA!!!! Well, I can't have that!!!! I'll paint the red dot black and the pos. terminal will have a red dot on the inside so it won't interfere with electrical connection.
