:bashhead::bashhead::bashhead::bashhead::bashhead: After much swearing and large helpings of alcohol I finally managed to get my mobile connected to my Zed via the USB port and should I wish to I can play music from it through the audio system. I don't want to do that but anyway the reason for my quest was to use the BMW Apps that are lurking somewhere in ConnectedDrive. Everything else works on ConnectedDrive like Internet, messages, BMW Mail and a whole host of things but when I select BMW Apps it just sits with the screen saying "please connect an external device to the USB port"?

Any ideas anyone?

we are used to points, steering boxes and starting handles on our cars... you have something most of us have no idea about....... :tumbleweed:

Google is your friend :computer:
Mmmmmmmmm.............. I had a starting handle on my Ford Pop but it didn't have ConnectedDrive? Ah those halcyon days of double de clutch gearboxes and manifold driven windscreen wipers.......................

Doesn't ConnectedDrive link via an app on your phone via the phones data network not via a USB connection?
You need the apps and set up access via BMWs severs to get remote access to your car.
Those services may also need a subscription. My wife had the connection to her car but found it was just too much trouble. It was troublesome to set up too.
The only real benefit was to upload routes to the satnav.
I also have a digital connection to my E85.
That's using the digits on my hands

Yes the app is loaded on my phone but to complete the setup you need to connect the phone to the car through USB? All Bluetooth connections work perfectly just this final hurdle of completing the app setup. I have full remote access through the app to my car and it connects to the multimedia side of the car through USB connection but not the BMW Apps side?

All subscriptions to ConnectedDrive are there and when I check available services they all report as being activated. Just this final USB connection. I'm beginning to think the apps side only work with iPhones and won't accept android connections?
