Discovered a small cut in the hood fabric the size of a shirt button hole. In fact, looks exactly like a button hole. A friend suggested using a product called stitch witchery, used for sewing. Any other repair suggestions?

Stitch withery is an iron on backing repair..may do more damage than repair. Just google convertible top repair kit, there are a lot of specific products for the job out there.
Uk Amazon but you get the idea

To repair the cut using Stormsure on the outside tape over the cut with Selotape. On the inside spread a layer of Stormsure over the cut & leave it to cure for a day. when cured remove the Selotape from the outside. The Stormsure should have formed a watertight flexible & almost invisible repair. Alternatively you could glue a patch from a bicycle puncture repair kit over the inside of the cut. For a belt & braces approach glue a patch over the inside using Stormsure. Good luck.

Thanks, ordered Stormsure today from Amazon. Considering doing the repair in reverse. Tape on the inside and fill the small cut from the outside.

If you do it that way you will see it from the outside more easily.

Agree with Tony i would try from inside first if doesn't work always gives you outside as an additional or backup repair.

If you want an invisible repair don't do it from the outside. This stuff is very messy & has tendency to get everywhere. If you are not bothered about how it looks then go ahead but as Stevo said nothing to loose by trying the inside first. If you press the glue into the tear from the inside it will fill the hole.

Will do it from the inside. Was concerned about opening access through the liner but found it was already detached near the cut at the front left corner.
Love this forum! I joined two other clubs for my other vehicles. I signed up for the Z Roadster club here in US but their only exchange between members is Facebook or Instagram. I don't do either, so a big thanks for helping.

This is a great forum with amazing Zed enthusiasts who are always looking to help and really go that extra mile. Has made my ownership of a Zed, with zero mechanical knowledge, an even greater experience
