Creator C310 Scanner OBDII works 20 Pin Does Not?

Hi folks

Bought a Creator C310 Scanner and OBD-20 pin lead. The scanner picks up the DME/ECU module via OBDII port under the dash, but will not communicate at all via 20-pin. I need to get into body/chassis systems to check out the alarm etc.

Any ideas folks?

Give the round socket under the bonnet a spray of electrical contact cleaner. I’ve had to do this with the last 2 Z3s I’ve looked at. Maybe never had anything connected there in its life.

Good point Tony, I happen to have some contact cleaner in the workshop. contact cleaner and a wiggle it is then, if that does not work, a sharp thump on the top like an old TV should do it.
