Thanks Mike, the ebay ones dont apper to have a power cable like the Halfords one does
I hadn't looked that closely, as I said the Halfords one has given me good service. I have had it for about 3 years and it is easy to fit.

Thanks guys, looks like its the Halfrauds one then
Crystal clear reception mate. I had the arial on the passenger side windscreen and had the cable run up under the A pillar trim. I needed to take a small nik of plastic out of the trim to allow the bit of cable to the arial a gap to enable the trim to sit flush. Only about 1-2mm. Can't even see it.

Had a Halfords one fitted in a SUV and around Kent the DAB signal was poor.
Not sure if was the ariel or the area but was expecting more from DAB signal wise.

I believe @Redline knows a lot about this stuff so might shed some light.

A powered antenna is is always going to give better performance.
In Lincolnshire you’re served pretty much by Belton although there are some regional transmitters as you get down towards Peterborough. You will likely get some shadow areas due to some of the large structures dotted around the landscape.

You shouldn’t get too much of an issue around Kent nowadays. Might be some areas around the north coast - there is a transmitter over in Essex to cover that area. Otherwise Kent has quite a few at 15. Wrotham and Bluebell hill are the main BBC and national Dab locations.
I’ll ask some of the engineers down there about specific locations with known coverage issues.
