I have only owned my 04 Z4 for a few months, and have driven it during the night twice. These headlights are very dim! I’m seeking advice on upgrading them to a brighter light. I’m sure many of you have done this project, so please prov me wit some recommendations.

Fit some Oscar Nightbreaker bulbs. The best option out there.

Looking at reviews for Nightbreaker bulbs they do get some mixed writeups with regards performance and longevity. Some suppliers even give just a 6 month warranty due to the fact that given they say that being 150% brighter the life expectancy is shorter.
Any feedback on performance, longevity and value for money would be appreciated as I'm thinking of upgrading my headlight bulbs in January.
Looking at Real OEM site for Z3 M Coupe it appears we need both HB3 and HB4 bulbs to replace the OEM dip and main beam bulbs. Has anyone felt the need to replace both or have they just replaced the dip bulb?

I fitted these into Z3 and Z4, ran them for at least 3 years and never changed them.

I am baffled! I have searched, but cannot find the answer. Is there a difference between the hi beam and low beam bulb? The H7 build keeps coming up for a replacement bulb, but there is no specification for hi/lo.

An H7 bulb is good for the dip beam on an E85/6 Z4.

2004 Z4. I know that I’m showing my ignorance asking these questions.

OK. The main beam bulb is also an H7 bulb, same wattage. The difference between the main and dip lights is that the dip bulb is "masked" so that it doesn't dazzle other drivers.

I use night breakers in our cars, great brightness but don’t last long, always have a couple of spares ready

Since this is my toy, and I hardly ever drive at night the bulbs may last longer. Thanks everyone for your feedback, and a special thank you to t-tony for your patience.
