Does my Z3 have remote locking and how do I turn on my alarm?

I recently got my Z3 and have been reading up about it. When I first got it, I concluded that it does not have remote locking but I’m wondering now if it does and if it was on a different fob that I wasn’t given when I bought it. Is there an easy way to tell if I do? If it doesn’t, I was looking at buying an aftermarket system from eBay (£20) but don’t want to waste the money if it does.

My second question is my alarm. Does it automatically arm itself when I lock the car or is that supposed to be on a separate fob also? Any help at all would be really appreciated.

It’s a 1998 1.9.

Thanks in advance!

The remote is a separate little "brick" with two buttons. The module is behind the glove box. Believe it was a standard fit.

My 1997 Z3 brochure states that "alarm system with remote control" is a standard fit.

Not sure where it is on mine there is a module in the boot I think its the tilt sensor
Tilt sensor is in the boot side well - but again was not fitted to all models - may have been an option on earlier ones. I don't have one but wiring is there off standard harness. EWS module is behind glove box.
