After a few false starts...pishy Ta Technix coilovers and then even pishier Ta Technix shocks i learned my lesson and just fitted Apex -35mm lowering springs to the OE shocks.

I like the look but could grow tired of the speed bump rigmarole.

I hadn't personally lowered any of my cars before but when @Craig Giblett done his i had to have it done. Far to much air between tyre and arch!

Coupled with the Poly lower rear wishbone bushes, the 2 x new wishbones and 4x new balljoints, the 2 x new droplinks, the 5mm spacers all round, 2 new front top mounts, 2 new rear top mounts and once it has its new boots on the front it'll be off for a geometry/alignment set up.

Been a busy few months of ownership!

It's how they should look, why BMW added the agricultural wheel gap in the first place...

As for speed bumps, it's just something you will get used to. I can only go 10mph over the ones near me as I drag my front spoiler... :(

Looks really well. I'd like mine lower but with 18's on and to bigger J rating i can't as it would catch on the front springs.

The coilovers on mine mean the front have to have massive spacers - so you're right only a fairly narrow J rating possible

The wheels would still sit below the bottom cup on the damper and shouldn't be anywhere near the spring.

I can just about get my fingers between the cup and inner top of the tyre.

The shorter spring will just make the damper shorter, not the distance between the bottom of the damper and the cup meaning you should still have the same gap, unless I'm mistaken!

We are now experts are Bmw z3 suspension swap outs... We've only done it 5 times between two cars in the last three weeks and unless these bilstein b8's on mine start to play ball and give me the drop I want they might be coming back off!! ;)
