Anyone tried these. Worn my contis out!
@GazHyde is almost on the money...

I have just fitted a set of Dunlop SportMaxx RT's (not RT 2's) and first impressions are good! Seem quiet enough, no issues with tram-lining, much better than my previous mismatched setup, but I haven't been able to push them too hard as I'm still wearing them in.

The rt 2 are getting rave reviews for wet and dry grip, and for low noise, a few decibels lower than any other tyre, have decided to give them a go

Hello sorry to resurrect an old post but how have you found the Sport Maxx RT2 tyres? I am thinking of getting them for my Z4 E89 as I want a quieter and more refined ride than the potenza’s and the Dunlop seems to be a very quiet tyre. Any issues regarding soft side walls on cornering? Thanks.

I just put a pair of Uniroyal Rainsports on the rear of my Z3. One of the best tyres in the wet and extremely competent in the dry. And they didn't break the bank at £100 ea with fitting. Very pleased with them.

I have Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2's on my Audi A3 2.0TDI (buckets of torques) and they work incredibly well in all weather conditions. Granted a different proposition with FWD Audi, but for the price it was a no brainer to stick with them when I needed the fronts replacing.

When I bought my Z in 2008, it still had the original tyres on which were SP sport. I have always found them very good and have stuck with the brand. At the moment the rears are SP Sport Maxx2 which have 6.5 MM of tread left after 10,000 miles. The fronts are SP sport Maxx which have done 30,000 miles. I thought these were worn out although there was no noticeable lack of wet grip, the outer edges were very low on tread and I thiought the wheel alignment needed checking. Last week I jacked it up for a thorough front end check and found that the tread depth was 3.6 MM right across the tyre except the outer rib which is much less from new and can wear down smooth. The tread pattern on the Maxx2s on the back is not like this. I will be replacing these before next summer with SP Sport Maxx2.

Changed the tyres last weekend - really pleased with the result. The car is quieter at all speeds and more forgiving of road imperfections but still retaining the cars firm suspension set up. No more tramlining and the car is much better in the wet. I’m sure there are firmer tyres out there but the reduced bone shaking ride that these tyres deliver is just what I wanted.
