E85 Passenger Door Won't Unlock

Hey guys, I recently purchased an 04 BMW Z4. Great car, 80k miles. I notice that 99% of the time, the passenger door won't unlock. When I press the key, nothing. Same thing with the inside unlock by the shifter. I hear something activating but not sure if that's coming from the driver door or passenger door. Any ideas?

After manually unlocking the door from the inside by pulling the handle, the door opens and closes freely.

Best guess would be the central locking actuator in that case. I fitted one to a Z4 E85 on "our" passenger side a few years ago for the same issue. Code reader may show up the fault?

By the way, if you open both doors and "close" the latches with a screwdriver you can then operate the central locking and with the doors further apart you may be able to pin down where the noise(s) are coming from.

How much would that part cost? Thanks for welcoming me!

I replaced one on my Z3 a few years ago and it cost around £40. Not too sure about the Z4 one but I can find out.
