I got a Recall Notice from BMW in today’s post, regarding Vanos screws on my 2011 23i. Anyone else got one?

Do they never learn?
VANOS screws on S50 had a problem. No recall, but there was sympathetic warranty.
Affects N52 engines only between 2009 and 2013 ish

And if you dont get the work done before your next mot.
The pass certificate will have a nice statement in heavy black font saying it passed its mot with an outstanding recall.

Yep. I messaged you a few days ago.
How big a job is this for the Dealer? Does it take them long? Last time I had a BMW recall Stratstone Derby wrecked my car! Went in for a minor 'fault' supposedly and ended up requiring a new engine. Handed back with parts missing and others unattached with bolts rolling round the engine bay and warning lights on. It was never right after that and I quickly moved it on.

Why would you accept it back? Just asking.
I didn't until they put right, but it then kept having problems after a few days. Took it back twice then sold it before something else happened.
Any more recall letters? I haven't received anything.

Not here either and I have asked two BMW garages before I did the cam gasket change .maybe ours @Z Victor 1 are special

Didn't the original letter say further info would be sent around August or have I dreamt that?
No you haven’t Niall, that is what they told me. And don't contact your local dealer until then.

I have a recall notice and I have just booked it into my local BMW dealer. Cross fingers. Apparently it is quite a big job. They are sending letters out as and when they have the parts availability. Apparently this recall affects only a very few cars!

It is only matched by VIN number. Remember it is the 3.0i engine that appears to be affected I have a 3.0i E89 2010. The garage told me this was the first one he had seen of its type in 20 years
Tony got a letter and his is a 2011 2.5.

Its ref the N52B25 and N52B30 engines
