Electric Roof Switch Connector

I am retrofitting an electric roof to a 1997 1.9 Z3 pre facelift, and would welcome any tips on finding the connector to go to the switch. I read 'The switch connector should be located behind the dash so just needs the plugging into a roof switch.' which sounds so simple! I did not want to strip out the whole centre console to find this connector and have looked around behind easing the side panels out a bit and through the clock hole but guess the connector is strapped down somewhere. Any clues please?

It will likely be taped back to the main loom Nic. Perhaps a kind Z3 owner could pull the switch out on their car and at least tell you what colour the connector is?

The switch is normally fitted in the panel behind the handbrake, and the wiring may well be there, just tied back.

It makes it a lot easier to operate if you move the switch to the front like this

saves all that twisting to find the thing. Plenty of wire already there on mine, just a matter of taking it out of the loom and moving it.

Found the connector! Its yellow and was tucked behind the carpet in the gear stick area on drivers (starboard) side. Could just be seen after popping off the gear lever gaiter then easing carpet out. Fished out with a piece of wire.
