Hi All
Hope everyone is good and well!

The engine oil cooler lines got damaged severally during the accident and every time I start the car oil starts pumping out from the lines.

is there a way of temporarily stopping oil from getting into the cooler lines so I can start the car without the cooler?
It has an N54 Engine.
In the Uk at the moment the temperature is -1 and I won’t be keeping the car on for too long. I just want to drive it to the body shop without oil pumping everywhere until I buy a new cooler kit?

I’ve come across videos and posts about how to bypass the thermostat so it stays open the whole time. I want to do the opposite.

It should be possible to bypass the damaged portion of the lines (and the oil cooler) using suitable lengths of rubber hose and jubilee clips. Did just this about 30 years ago on my GT6 on the way to LeMans. The fan came off at 5500 revs & sliced through the hoses. You don’t need an oil cooler unless you’re thrashing it, so it’ll certainly get you to the garage & back

Thanks for the message. I’ll try that and see how it ends
